Message from the Academic Director

Rapid advances in molecular science have revolutionized approaches to diagnosis, treatment and management of many human diseases. There is an increasing demand on health care professionals to avail of the translation of molecular advances in all clinical specialties. This programme provides a structured postgraduate course, aimed at providing health care professionals with a deeper understanding of the molecular and genetic basis of diseases and the application of this knowledge in diagnosis and patient management.

The curriculum provides a wide range of topics in Molecular and Diagnostic pathology, including topics forefront of the emerging field, which are highly relevant to the work practice of students from different backgrounds.

Suitable for specialists, resident specialists, community physicians and medical laboratory staff responsible for developing, managing and providing molecular diagnostic services, the programme will be delivered by both face-to-face as well as on-line means, through didactic lectures, interactive tutorials and practicals, case-based discussion and the use of real-patient scenarios to illustrate the clinical applications of molecular and diagnostic pathology. Innovative use of technology enriched learning and virtual laboratory visits will enable active participation by overseas students.
